How do binaural beats work?
Two different frequencies of pure sound are combined to create a vibration. When these two frequencies are heard in stereo headphones, the left and right hemispheres of the brain work in unison to calculate the difference between the two frequencies. This is called a binaural beat. As our brain becomes synchronised by this stimulus, we are guided into deep meditative states.
Binaural beats directly stimulate the growth of new & relaxed neural pathways, making it easier to become and stay relaxed. This stimulus provides a healthy neurological exercise and meditation experience combined.
Why do I have to use headphones?
Binaural beats can only be perceived and activate brainwave activity with headphones. If you listen to the frequencies on stereo speakers, it will be relaxing as the music is soothing. However, you will miss out on the deeper meditative experiences you can achieve by listening with headphones.
Are there any subliminal messages or recordings?
No.
I thought the effects of binaural beats were cancelled by mp3 format?
Unison Therapy have engineered their binaural beats to still be effective in high-quality stereo mp3 format. Our music is also rich in other audio-guidance techniques to give you a deeper, longer lasting journey.
Can I put Unison Therapy tracks on my iPod / mp3 player?
Absolutely.
If you are "ripping" the tracks from your CD, convert the tracks to as high a quality mp3 as possible and keep the tracks in stereo. (eg - 320kps stereo mp3)How are Unison Therapy products different to other similar products on the market?
Although we cannot comment on the effectiveness of other products, these are the qualities that make Unison Therapy products unique.

What’s the difference between each CD in the unison series?
Just like the body adapting to exercise, so too do our brains adapt to a binaural beat stimulus. This is called habituation.
After long term repetitive use of the same CD, you will need fresh stimulus in order for the brain to be challenged and go deeper into your journey. This is why there is more than one volume in the unison series.
Once you feel as though you have gained as much as you can from one CD, move onto another. Continue using each CD, one at a time to its fullest potential. Then you can begin swapping between them all to gain the maximum benefit throughout your journey.
What conditions can be assisted by Unison Therapy CDs?
Anxiety; Depression; Stress; Insomnia; PTSD; Addictions; Chronic Fatigue SyndromeAre any of these CDs good for people with ADD / ADHD?
No. People with attention disorders actually produce an unbalanced ratio of slower brain waves, so they should not be stimulating more slow brain waves. However, Unison Therapy will be developing a CD for attention disorders soon.
Why can’t I use the CD’s if I have a tendency towards seizures?
Binaural beats stimulate neural activity. This stimulation may not be beneficial for someone with epilepsy or other seizures
Why is there a warning against using the CDs during pregnancy?
Unison Therapy has now removed this particular warning. After subsequent research and careful testing, we have now discovered binaural beats to be particularly beneficial to pregnant women and young mothers.
Why can’t children use it?We recommend the treatment of children be under the supervision of a health professional.
What type of headphones should I use?
We recommended closed headphones that cover the whole ear as they have better sound quality and also help to block outside sound.
What’s a good headphone frequency range?
Headphones are engineered to be able to amplify certain frequencies. A good general range is 20 Hz – 20,000 Hz (or 20 kHz). If the first number is lower and the last number is higher (eg. 18 Hz – 25, 000 kHz) than the frequency range is even better.
For optimal listening to binaural beats, the lower the first number, the more you will hear the carrier frequencies which create the binaural beats.
